Forest Policy and Environmental Group (FPEG)

This site by the Overseas Development Institute sets out the aims of the FPEG who seek to inform the processes of policy change in tropical forestry in ways which improve the livelihoods and well-being of the forest-dependent poor, whilst also securing the long-term future of forest resources

 

Friends of the Earth

Friends of the Earth is an organisation famous for its campaigning on environmental issues. Log on to find out how to save cash and the environment in one go plus find out what campaigns are running and how you can do your bit.

 

Eco-schools

Eco schools is an international organisation set up to encourage schools to operate more eco friendly through means of recognition and awards for most effort put into being so.

 

Global Environment Facility (GEF)

The GEF does lots of projects in developing countries, and you can find out more about their work on this site, which also has some informative fact sheets and lots of links.

 

Greenpeace

Their official site, Greenpeace is an independent international campaigning organization that gets involved in preventing environmental problems through campaigns and protests.

 

The Ecologist - Students

The “World’s Most Respected Environmental Affairs” magazine, has monthly topics which are compared and the connection between scrutinised, whether it be food, war, politics or corporate fraud it is discussed here.

 

Union of Concerned Scientists

On this American site, you can read scientists’ views of how we can change our behaviour to avert global warming. There’s also some information about wildlife and deforestation.

 

Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP)

WRAP helps individuals, businesses and local authorities to reduce waste and recycle more, making better use of resources and helping to tackle climate change.

 

World Environment Day

BBC Weather - Pollen Count

Suffer from hayfever? Check out this website to check where in the UK you are at the highest risk of suffering with their Green, Amber and Red symbol warning system.  Also read about what type of pollen causes hayfever and when and where you are at most risk of coming into contact with it.
