Homelessness

Centrepoint

Centrepoint is the national charity working to improve the lives of socially excluded, homeless young people. It provides a range of accommodation based services, including emergency nightshelters and short stay hostels, specialist projects for care leavers, ex-offenders, young single parents, foyers and supported flats and floating support services.

This government website provides statistics about homelessness, but these figures are based only on those who approach councils and claim they are homeless.

 

Nightstop

Nightstop UK supports a network of Nightstop Schemes throughout the United Kingdom who provide safe emergency accommodation for homeless young people aged 16-25 in the homes of approved volunteers.

 

Runaway Helpline

The Runaway Helpline is a national, Freefone confidential service for anyone who has run away from home or care, or been forced to leave home.

 

YWCA of Great Britain

The YWCA works with young women facing poverty, discrimination or abuse.
